Description
From the Ernie Ball website: The Ernie Ball Earthwood acoustic bass featured an oversized walnut body, spruce top and “Hot Dot” acoustic pickup. The sound was big and bold. Original Earthwood acoustic basses are considered extremely collectable therefore commanding a premium on the vintage market. These very unusual & 1st type early to the market large bodied fully acoustical Bass guitars are simply the coolest. It’s got a great feeling maple neck w/a maple headstock sporting the Ernie Ball “E” logo. Its pair of Brazilian Rosewood pickgards are still perfectly intact. Its clean square white label inside states its # B581. They were made by future Music Man employees on California to a fantastic level of quality. This one being the 81st example made w/the fattest 8″ body depth. They had a standard 6″ width body that came later. This is the cleanest & most original we’ve encountered of a dozen or so over the years & is truly near mint. It comes complete w/its original crazy rare & still unsigned warranty paperwork inside its “E” logo’d original brown vinyl gig bag.
