Description

We have available this rare 1960 Gibson J-45 that’s wonderfully cool & all original. It’s been blessed by having 1 of Gibson’s very earliest Cherry Sunburst finishes over a spruce top w/a fabulous deep color that changed by 1962. Its ultra clean mahogany back & sides have stunning stripes sides & its ultra flat & side neck is quite clean too. Its still sports its original single line Kluson 3-in-line tuners w/plastic buttons. What’s the neatest thing about this rare beast is that is has an “R” stamped heel code for 1960 w/a very low 4-digit serial #…I can’t state how rare a transitional J-45 this is & it’s a great axe too. The neck is straight as an arrow with slight relief. The action right now is wonderful, very comfortable and perfectly intonated up and down the neck with no buzzing. The truss rod has plenty of room to move in both directions. When plucked, this guitar sings gently and with precision and grace, but also boasts a powerful bass and sweet and melodic midrange when strummed more aggressively. This rare beast is truly near mint in all respects & will come in a decent original black tolex/yellow lined hard case.
