1963 Gibson Johnny Smith Double

This is a really cool very early production 1963 Gibson Johnny Smith Double pickup model that’s just 1 of only 7 produced. It’s got a gorgeous Red/Brown Sunburst finish over a nice carved maple top & nicely figured back. Its beautiful feeling & playing 5 piece flamey maple neck feels fabulous. It’s got a bound Ebony fingerboard w/3-piece block inlays & its long extended headstock that is so cool ! You get a killer variety of jazz tones thru its 2 floating mini humbucking pickups. She’s currently sporting a set of 80’s Gibson Kluson Seal-Fast tuners w/flip-out arms w/no mods at all & they look original. All of its hardware is clean from its wooden base bridge to its cool L-5 long gold tailpiece. Its factory orange label is intact. She’s got killer sustain & tone qualities. Other than a small bracket holding its pickgard in place to its bridge, she’s truly near mint overall & comes in a nice original black tolex/Gold lined hard case w/an original beat up case cover.
