Description
This is a great example of what Martin specialized in…making such fabulous sounding small bodied models of all types. This is a very special early production 0-17 made in early 1934 in all original clean shape 1 of just a few 14-Fret neck models available. Its Mahogany top is quite clean that’s been played a bit w/no repairs. It still has all of its original scalloped braces. Its Mahogany back & sides are absolutely crack free & quite clean too. Its 1 piece neck feels very comfy w/its prominent smooth “V” shape, plays great & has a perfect neck angle. It sports a beautiful Brazilian Rosewood headstock veneer w/no logo which is stamped on the back of its headstock. Its original open back nickel plated metal button tuners are clean & hold tune well. Its Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard & bridge are still quite nice. Amazingly she still retains her original “Bar” Frets which Martin stopped by mid-1934 when the started using the more modern “T” shaped frets. Records show this was sold thru Galperin Music Shop in Charleston West Virginia & it lest the factory w/final inspection on March 1st, 1934. If you ever wanted a killer sounding 87 year old perfect playing 0 size Martin…this is it. She’s excellent overall & comes in her original soft shell case. $Not For Sale.
