Description
Here we have a gorgeous example of a prewar National New Yorker Lap Steel Model 75 built in 1940. The design is very art deco and awesome, and it comes with its original well-preserved case ! This guitar has been tested and is fully functional. Its colorful and emblematic of the immediate post-war era, this National New Yorker lap steel guitar not only looks impressive but also sounds very appealing. The stepped wooden body and headstock feature alternating black and white plastic overlays for an eye-catching design. The clear Lucite fingerboard is painted from the back and features carved white fretlines and position markings in various colors of Roman numerals. The headstock is covered in black celluloid and features an enamelled national logo plate. The volume control is located on the top of the treble side in front of the pickup, and the chicken head-shaped tone control located behind the bridge has three tone settings: “Bass,” “Mellow,” and “Brilliant.” Its excellent overall & comes w/its original soft case.
