Description

The 16″ line of Gibson Archtops are some of their best during the World War II. This is a fully acoustic L-4 made during the most elegant Jazz explosion. This L-4 has a solid carved Spruce top w/maple back & sides w/a 3 piece neck w/a 1 11/16″ nut width. Its almost 3-tone Dark Sunburst finish has wonderful patina having very little weather checking all over that shows just how beautiful its originality. It’s got a varied banjo pattern inlaid Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard w/fleur-de-lis headstock inlay w/nice original frets. Its open back Kluson Deluxe tuners are made of pot metal during the war & they have a few of them repaired but the buttons tune perfectly. Its nickel plated tailpiece is quite unusual & very clean. Its bindings are all perfect & she’s very lightweight. 1 owner for the past few decades who’s enjoyed it that made the perfect combo for any great jazz player would enjoy. It’s truly exceptional overall w/no cracks nor any repairs ever & comes in its original Tweed w/racing stripes & pink lined hardshell case.
