Description
Danelectro’s Longhorn Basses & Guitarlins are some of our favorite Vintage pieces anywhere. They were so simply made & inexpensive when made in the late 50’s thru the 70’s. Many famous people used & loved these as they had a tone & playability like no other cheap guitar. This example is a very unusual & rare all original model Bass IV in its factory Copper’burst finish on its front & back of its body & on its neck. It is a very cool variant of its other Bass siblings. It sports a pair of original “Lipstick” tubed pickups close together a la Hofner. Its body has Dano’s signature cloth covered sides on its body still intact. It is so nice to see still having its original headstock logo w/its 3 on a side tuners intact, its clear pickgard & its white concentric stacked knobs w/pointers still all in place. Played by the likes of John Entwistle of the Who & Rinus Gerritsen, the bass player in Golden Earring. This has got to be one of the coolest, rare & all original Dano’s of its time. Comes in its matching Blue tolex Coffin shaped hard case.
