Description
The 16″ line of Gibson Archtops are some of their best from the 50’s & 60’s. This is a fully acoustic L-4C w/a sharp Florentine cutaway that most people think is an acoustic ES-175 but they differ drastically. The 175’s are all laminated maple. This L-4C has a solid carved Spruce top w/maple back & sides w/a 1 piece mahogany neck w/a 1 11/16″ nut width. Its Dark Sunburst finish has wonderful patina having very little weather checking all over that shows just how minty its originality. It’s got a double parallelogram inlaid Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard w/nice original frets. Its Kluson Deluxe tuners w/both single line & double ring buttons tune perfectly. Its nickel plated tailpiece is quite clean. Its bindings are all perfect & she’s very lightweight. 1 owner for the past few decades who’s enjoyed it that made the perfect combo for any great jazz player would enjoy. It’s truly exceptional overall w/no cracks nor any repairs ever & comes in its original black tolex/yella lined hardshell case.
