Description

This is a wonderful & maybe the most desirable example of a Double Cutaway 1963 Gretsch 6131 Jet Firebird as played by AC/DC’s Mr. Malcom Young. Its distinctive Red finished Top w/all Black finished back, sides & neck are still so deco & in vogue today. Its headstock features the Gretsch logo, Neo-Classic Thumb nail inlaid ebony fingerboard, a set of powerful Filter’trons, Gold hardware, Black lucite’gard, G’s w/an arrow knobs, open back Kluson tuners, but its factory Burns vibrato makes this into what the bottom line rhythm of AC/DC is nothing but this tone coming from only this short early 60’s period. There’s a few spots of binding starting to crystallize, but we are saving the areas as we speak. Its even is sporting the 1st label of its type glued under the back side of its cavity cover w/a slim sticker & a stamped serial # still intact. Fun fact is most 60’s solid bodies had their serial # either scratched into this black back plate cover & or a label glued to the inside wall of its back cavity. It’s truly excellent in all respects, a featherweight & comes in its original gray tolex w/white spots/red lined hard case.
