Just into our personal collection is this perfect original unrestored example of a Factory Fiat-Abarth OT 1000 Spider w/some famous owner history. It’s 1 of maybe 30 or so examples ever produced. This is a 100% original car including all of its Red paintwork to its black interior & soft top. It now shows a total of only 5200 original miles from new. Every piece of rubber trim to its top & both driver & passenger doors, to its front trunk & engine bay, is still soft & supple ! Its dash & steering wheel are like new. Its original soft top has been down most of its life & is also near perfect. The only thing we’ve done is replace the tires w/a set of proper Pirelli CA 67 145/13 tires put on its original 13″ steel wheels & chrome hub caps.
It was owned from new by a Mr. Busuttil from new in 1967. It was cherished by him & the Tampa Bay area & hardly driven yet kept in perfect original condition as it was delivered new. It was in the same family for over 40 years & passed down in 2002 to his son, a Dr. Ronald W. Busuttil of California after his passing. Dr. Busuttil is best known as the founding chief of the Division of Liver and Pancreas Transplantation, who performed the very Liver Transplant for UCLA Health on February 1st, 1984. An avid car collector, he kept his Dad’s OT 1000 until he sold it on in 2008.
