Description
This was a very cool new solid body bass for Gibson tentatively replacing the EB-3 Bass in the early 70’s. It was a slow seller until Gene Simmons started using Gibson Basses on tour & it was accepted by many that questioned Gibson’s new design. Its original Black finish is worn in cool w/lots of patina having many dings & some buckle rash on the back. Its original electronics were a passive configuration with 2 original Bill Lawrence humbucking pickups w/an original 4-position Vari-tone selector switch for dozens of tone changes with Volume, Treble and Tone controls. Its neck is very straight, feels great & she’s still sporting its original bridge retaining its chrome cover. She’s very good overall & will be a great gigging bass for any style of music. Comes in a decent shaped generic hard case.
