Description
This is perhaps one of the rarest Stratocasters ever produced by Fender & is in our Private Collection for the last 25 years. This is a factory made Strat for its display at the NAMM Show that year. It was based on a 1975 spec Strat w/a cool twist. It has a very unusual see-thru Resin “sandwiched” body that has an Opaque Orange front 1/2 of its body w/a Clear back 1/2 of its body made to show off its electronics to all that are interested in seeing the inside of a Strat. It has a 3-bolt maple neck that has an ink stamped date code & a nice clean White 3-layer pickgard. It is loaded with a set of 3 flat-pole pickups all dated 1975, its all original pots dated the 17th week of 1975. It is heavy as hell at 13 lbs. but has a unique tone quite brittle like a Tele on steroids. We understand Fender may have made a few different colors of Resin but this is the only one we ever have seen or heard of. The only other Strat similar was a completely Clear see-thru Lucite body & matching see-thru neck that was made by Fender back in 1957. Notice the attached photos from Guitar World magazine from July 1987 & a copy of Encore magazine. That one has a value today of at least $250K. so this is only 10% of that so get it while its so cheap ! These 2 Lucite Strats have got to be the rarest things Fender has ever pot their “Fender” logo on & could well be the most rare & expensive Strats known to exist. We have owned this Strat since c.1990 & have never thought to sell market it ever. It is truly a 1 of a kind & certainly worth keeping for the long haul. It’s 100% original & comes in its original hard case.
