Description

This is a Washburn A20/V – likely 1985. It was part of the BBV series of Washburn that ran for a very brief time within the A20 history. The BBV series were black with red/black multi-ply body binding, red neck binding, and red fretboard markers. The A20 model is the desirable model. If you were looking for an Explorer/Destroyer type guitar to do the killer hard rock sound. This hits the mark perfectly. This is a nice A20. That said, there are 40 years worth of pick scratches and small dings. Much cleaner than many of the similar examples that are out there. Finish has dulled a little with time…it’s a black 40 year-old guitar. Its neck is straight. The fretboard is in excellent condition. The original frets are still in great shape, indicating low usage over the years. No damage to the binding. The Trem system – it’s the original Washburn Wunderbar. Washburn routed all the bodies for inboard trems, starting in the 1984 run. I believe that they switched to the Wunderbar shortly thereafter. It is original equipment. It is a top mount and much easier to string up than a Floyd, or god forbid, a Kahler. The original rollers are in great condition and work without issues. The Pickups are the original Washburn “Power Sustain” Humbuckers & w/an ash body, this brought the guitar to life. Each pickup has a coil tap switch. It’s just a bit dusty & left in its case for decades. Now ready to enjoy, she’s excellent overall & comes in its original hard case.
