Description
This is a very rare 1995 Gibson L-5 Centennial 100th Anniversary specially made w/an Ebony finish. The Centennial series came out in 1994 to celebrate Gibson´s 100-year anniversary. Features include a real diamond on the Gibson headstock logo, diamond markers on the 22K gold plated top hat knobs which also have the 100 th anniversary logo, diamond jeweled sterling silver Centennial serial number (in this case 1959) on the tailpiece, Mother of Pearl inlays including 100th Anniversary banner at the 12 th fret and 22K gold plated anniversary Orville Gibson coin on the back of the headstock. This instrument is from the early days of the Gibson Custom Shop when Jim Triggs, James Hutchins and Terry Ryan made some of their most impressive archtop guitars, and this rare L-5 is a great testament of that. The instrument itself is a great sounding Gibson Custom Shop L-5, all original and in excellent condition w/only some minor play-wear all over and the gold-plating shows some typical fading. Comes in a nice brown tolex/pink lined hard case.
