Description
The Tune Bass Company started in the early to mid-80’s in Japan. I became a Tune Bass Dealer in the early 90’s & bought my 1st WB5-BM (Birdseye Maple) at the NAMM Show for my personal consumption. Hence I always regretted selling it. We have a really clean original example of a production WB5-FM Fretless Bass in our collection. This WB4-QM (Quilted Maple) is a “Prototype” of its soon to be released WB model. All of these were originally designed to be Fretless. So Tune made quite a # of experimental Basses & this one is a groovy 4 String w/a “Fretted” Ebony fingerboard & was barely completed when it left the Japanese factory. Notice she has no volume & tone knobs at all. It also is absent of any Tune “T” logo & has never had a truss rod cover. It also has a pencil marking inside the truss rod slot # 32…its quite an interesting iteration of the WB lineup & makes a perfect paring w/my 5 String production model. Its electronics are killer & the designed GP-5 piezo pickups are mounted to produce real “wood bass” sound. This is a pure original Prototype prior to Tune going belly up. By the 2000’s Tune basses were made in Korea. She’s like new & will remain in our collection for good. $Not For Sale.
